Fun Book for Kids Who Hate to Take Baths
As the librarian in charge of buying books for educational programs at a marine-life park, this is by far one of my most treasured books. Children from kindergarten to third grade love this book. The text is written with humor, with some of the best illustrations I've seen. We had a visit from the author a few years ago, when we were lucky enough to get a signed copy. Our copy has been so well-loved, we are now on the hunt for a few new ones, only to find the book is out of print! This is a top-quality book.

The Seventh Ray: Revealer of the Age
Published in Paperback by Lucis Publishing Company (June, 1995)
Author: Alice A. Bailey
Average review score:

Excellent Compilation of Baileys' Writings on the 7th Ray
This book compiles all the relevant information on the 7th Ray (which is coming into manifestation) from Alice Baileys' books. This book as well as the book by Vera Stanley Alder "The Initiation of the World" & "Seven Rays Made Visual" by Helen Burmester are necessary companion/introductory books to Alice Baileys' volumes.

Other recommended books are- "KYBALION" by Three Initiates" ; 'ZELATOR" by Mark Hedsel ; "What the Ancient Wisdom Expects of its Disciples" by Manly P. Hall ; "Meditation" by Sri Chinmoy ; "The Secret Life of Nature" by Peter Tompkins ; and the books by Rudolph Steiner.

Sex Pistols File
Published in Paperback by Omnibus Press (October, 1997)
Author: Ray Stevenson
Average review score:

Perfect for a fan
I bought this book in Boston when I was in eighth grade, back in the mid eighties. At the time I was really into the Sex Pistols, and things like this book were hard to find. The book is basically comprised of photographs and newspaper clippings, beginning with the birth of the Sex Pistols, with Glen Matlock, up until Sid's death and Johnny's next band, Public Image, Ltd. If you want to see the actual photos and learn about the band, then this book is for you. I know that there is a lot of Sex Pistols stuff out there right now, but this book is really worth getting. All the legendary stuff is in here, including pictures from the infamous Bill Grundy interview, where you can see a very young Siouxsie Sioux. If you're into the Pistols, buy this book.

Sex, Love, or Infatuation: How Can I Really Know?
Published in Paperback by Augsburg Fortress Publishers (September, 1990)
Author: Ray E. Short
Average review score:

The has never been a book so appealing to the youth.
This book is full of statistics and general findings. However, the weekness is that it seems to be more based on the United States youth, rather than been universal in approach.

Sharks & Rays of the World
Published in Hardcover by Voyageur Press (October, 1999)
Author: Doug Perrine
Average review score:

Premier photographs and biological information
Doug is a graduate of the University of Miami, Rosensteil School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. After earning his masters in marine biology he became an outstanding underwater photographer. His biological backround and attention to details in this book are evident. The book covers the gamut of shark identification for both the layman and advanced reader. Photos are crisp and clear and the book is easy and enjoyable to read. I recommend this book to divers, marine biologists, and science teachers.

Silent Cry is a wonderfully enlightening reading experience.
Silent Cry is a very moving story, brought to life by Mr. Bassette's humor, insightfullness and honesty. This is the ultimate story of one person's struggle to overcome negative odds. Simple Machines (Starting With Science Series)
Published in Hardcover by Kids Can Press (March, 1998)
Authors: Deborah Hodge, Deborah Hodge, Ray Boudreau, and the Ontario Science Centre
Average review score:

Excellent elementary science experiments.
This book is the best I've seen for doing simple machine experiments at the elementary level. It is perfect for third and fourth grade science classrooms. The directions are simple to follow and the results of the experiments are easy to understand. The function of each simple machine was clear. Students are able to collect the materials from home and the experiments are designed for them to work together. An excellent teacher resource!
